Google docs revision feature

Is it just me or is Google Docs revision feature a bit obsessed about autosaving?

Today was the first time I used Google Docs for some writing. I like it so far. It contains all basic things for lightweight editing and it’s very easy to send the document. It takes only two clicks if the person(s) is on the list of colaboraters. But there is one thing I don’t like: in about 90 minutes it made about 90 revisions. It even made a revision when I removed a single dot. It looks like it does that every time you stop typing for some period of time. If you don’t stop typing for a longer period of time, it will make a revision every minute or two.

The positive thing is that it groups the revisions, so only the bigger ones are visible. Otherwise, the revision list would overpopulate in matter of hours. Of course, the feature itself is a great thing – I would love to see it in OpenOffice (or any other office suite).

I haven’t checked if there are some settings regarding the revision feature. It sure would be nice if I could make it less sensitive to changes.
